About Club
The Kern County Hockey Club was founded as a Nonprofit Corporation in the summer of 1997 in Bakersfield, California. In its first year of existence the club had one Bantam team known as the Bakersfield Jr. Fog. After the first season, the club added a team at the Squirt, Peewee and Midget level and changed the team names to the Bakersfield Dragons.
The Purposes of the club are:
a) to provide recreational, athletic and educational opportunities for youth under 18 years of age and learn the skills and to play the game of ice hockey, consistent with the principles established by USA Hockey, California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) and the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA);
b) to encourage and foster participation in the sport of ice hockey at all levels of age and ability;
c) to develop character and sportsmanship among all players for the betterment of their physical and social well-being;
d) to operate the Club consistent with the purposes of a public benefit, nonprofit;
e) and to remain nonprofit, nonsectarian and nonpartisan.
The logos of the Kern County Hockey Club and Bakersfield Dragons were designed by Dan Newton and Mike Willis. All Dragons logos are copywrited and trademarked by the Kern County Hockey Club. It is a violation of the law to use any of these without the written permission of the Kern County Hockey Club board of directors.

Mission
The mission of Kern County Hockey Club is to encourage and facilitate participation of Kern county youth in competitive and recreational level ice hockey programs. We emphasize the total development of each player to achieve their full potential as athletes and individuals through instructional programs, practices, physical conditioning and games. We are a family oriented club that values the active participation of parents and other volunteers in accordance with the policies and guidelines of USA Hockey. The organization shall provide a volunteer board of directors to oversee and manage the necessary activities of the club to ensure participation in and compliance with their league, state and federal governing agencies.
